Have you ever had one of those moments in life where despite being in the midst of a challenging and difficult time, you knew deep down inside that everything was going to be okay? Perhaps because you have a deep trust in the process of life and you know you have some amazing Reiki resources + guides on your side?
This happened to me last month, when I was cruising through some pretty amazing mountains and canyons of Utah and Arizona. During a 6 week solo adventure through the south western United States, fear and courage danced together more times than I could count. I found myself in many challenging, somewhat scary situations along the journey, but each and every time I felt incredibly blessed to be able to call upon my spirituality and Reiki energy to help me through.
One adventure in particular had my dog and I deep inside a slot canyon, where the walls were towering almost a hundred feet above us, barely able to see the light of day. We came across this big boulder with a 10 foot drop down to the bottom, and had to scramble over it to continue on. I could manage to edge over and down fairly easily (getting fairly dirty in the process!), but my adventurous dog, Jake, was stopped in his tracks at such an obstacle. I attempted a few times to maneuver and coax him down, without success. So there was nothing left to do but look high above me, say a prayer to my guides, and toss in a couple Reiki symbols (which you learn in Levels 2 + 3).
You know what? Within 45 seconds, an earth angel arrived in the form a man named Jose, from California. He was able to help me get Jake over the boulder so we could continue on our journey where we discovered some pretty amazing nooks of the slot canyon. (See the pic below)
It felt like an instant response to my call above.
That everything was aligned for us to meet at the same spot at the same time so Jake could be helped.
I was deeply grateful for the help and assistance from both my Reiki guides and Jose. And I truly believe it was all thanks to my deep connection and dedication to my spirituality (which includes my Reiki practice).
While Reiki wasn’t able to give me or my dog super powers for him to jump down safely, I do believe it helped orchestrate the alignment of all of us to end up in the same place at the same time (with the exact resources Jose was carrying on his back that aided Jake the best). And guess what? It happened again on our way out when we had to climb back up and over this rock (less than a minute wait for someone to come along and help).
So never underestimate the power of weaving Reiki into your life, in any situation. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll need some help getting a dog over a boulder and Reiki will be your best resource in that moment!
